Coulomb's Law
Main Concept
Coulomb's inverse square law is a law of physics that describes the electrostatic interaction between two electrically charged particles.
The law states that:
where
is a proportionality constant approximately equal to ,
and are the charges of the two particles,
is the distance between the two particles.
If the force is positive the particles are being repulsed. If the force is negative, the particles are being attracted.
Adjust the sliders to change the charge and distance of each particle.
