The Inertia tab shows the Material, Density, Mass, and Volume of the part.
•
You can change the Material. In the Material field, select a new material from the drop-down list containing all the materials in the Material Database. The density of the material is used together with the volume to calculate the mass of the part.
•
To use a material that is not found in this list, click Add new material definition (
). Add a new material to the database. (See Setting Material Settings).
•
You can override the Density or Mass fields directly. Note that changing one of these will also change the other and the Material field accordingly.
•
To restore the original material click Restore original material (
).
The Inertia about CoG table at the bottom of the tab contains the nine elements of the inertia matrix of the part. The units for the inertia matrix are given above the table.
Each cell represents a moment of inertia or a product of inertia calculated about the center of gravity.
