Single-phase Resistors

A resistor converts electrical power to heat. The voltage across and the current through a resistor ($v$ and $i$, respectively) are related by the equation, $v=iR$, where $R$ is the resistance. A conductor with conductance $G$ is equivalent to a resistor with resistance $1/G$.
