The Cayley transform is an algebraic method to be used for rotations about an axis in three dimensional space. As such it's useful for moving points over the unit sphere. Combined with the plottools:-rotate procedure we use them for several elementary constructive geometrical examples, in particular to generate kissing circles and a more advanced method for covering the unit sphere with loxodromes in a remarkable triangulated web.
