Elite Maintenance Program: Frequently Asked Questions

This information answers commonly asked questions about the Maplesoft Elite Maintenance Program (EMP).

When a new version is released, we will automatically send a download link and purchase code for the new product by email to the main contact for your license.

The Maple Academic Adoption Program is available to instructors at academic institutions that have Maple licenses and that are currently enrolled in the Elite Maintenance Program. By registering for the Maple Academic Adoption Program, instructors at eligible institutions are given access to a student discount code and may be eligible for a free term faculty home use Maple license for themselves.

When an institution first purchases a Maplesoft product that includes EMP, they provide us with a primary contact name to use for future correspondence. When a new version of this product is released, we notify this contact by email to make them aware of the new release, and we provide them with any download links and purchase codes they need to install the new version. Renewing your EMP is the easiest and most cost effective way to ensure you are always working with the latest technology from Maplesoft.

  • By keeping your EMP subscription up to date, you will continue to enjoy the benefits of EMP which include software upgrades, access to Technical Support and the host of free services offered by our Client Outreach Team.
  • Academic customers will also be able to participate in the Maple Academic Adoption Program

Should you choose not to keep your EMP subscription up to date, you will lose access to the benefits of EMP which include software upgrades, access to Technical Support and the host of free services offered by our Client Outreach Team. In addition, should you choose to upgrade to the latest version, the cost will be more than that of renewing.

The renewal date of your Elite Maintenance Program is on the anniversary date of your original purchase.


Automatic Recurring Subscription

If your original purchase or previous EMP subscription renewal was eligible for enrollment in our automated recurring subscription program, you will receive an email notification two months prior to the end of your current subscription period reminding you of your automatic billing date and the amount you will be charged.

Seven days prior to the billing date, you will receive a final alert email that includes your billing date and the amount that will be charged.

Once your payment is successfully processed, you will receive an emailed payment receipt for your records and a separate email with the details of your subscription renewal.


All Other EMP Renewals

Approximately two months before the renewal is due, we will send you an email notification with the necessary information (cost, renewal dates, size of license etc.).

You can purchase your renewal with an official purchase order, with a check, by credit card, or wire transfer. After you renew, we will email you an order confirmation.

Automatic Recurring Subscription

On the anniversary date of your current subscription, your renewal will be automatically charged to the payment method we have on file for you. If you need to update your payment details, please contact Customer Service.


All Other Renewals

Two months before your renewal date, you will receive an email notification that your renewal is coming due. You can purchase your renewal with an official purchase order, with a check, or by credit card.

To process your order, we will require the following information:

  1. Your complete billing address.
  2. Your complete shipping address, if you will be receiving shipped product.
  3. Payment terms of Net 30 days.
  4. A signature of the authorized purchaser, accompanied by their title.
  5. The name and e-mail address of the person to whom we should email download links and purchase codes when new versions are released, if this information has changed.
  6. Orders may be subject to applicable taxes depending on your state or province. Please include a tax exemption certificate if applicable.
  7. If renewal payment is by VISA, MasterCard, or American Express, please contact your Renewal Representative to give them your credit card information.

After we process your renewal order, you will receive an order confirmation with the new renewal dates.
If your license is perpetual, you will not need to reactivate your products, and the purchase codes you were given earlier will still be valid. If you have a term license, you will need to reactivate your products. New purchase codes will be included with your order confirmation.
If the next release of your product falls within the new renewal period, we will automatically send you the new version.

Yes, you can change your end date as long as the overall renewal period is not less than 12 months. Please contact your Renewal Representative.

A floating license is shared among multiple computers. For instance, you may have 20 people sharing a 10 user Maple license. In that case, Maple can be installed on 20 different computers, but at most 10 people can use it at any one time. Non-floating licenses are not shared between computers. With a 10 user non-floating license, Maple is installed on exactly 10 computers, and is always available on all 10 of them. For further details, please contact your Renewal Representative.

EMP customers who purchased their license directly from Maplesoft can access free 15-day evaluations for a selection of Maplesoft products from the Maplesoft Customer Center.

Your subscription will renew automatically if:

  • You purchased a new standard single user/student edition license including EMP from our online store on or after July 1, 2024
  • You have a one-user standalone license that includes EMP and
    • It was purchased before July 1, 2024, and
    • Has a subscription ending before January 1, 2025, and
    • You paid for you current EMP renewal via our online store.
