This demo from the MAPLE FLOW—Powered By Maple series shows how power utilities with relay settings calculations can use Maple Flow to export the values to the AcSELerator QuickSet configuration tool from Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) when managing programmable protection relay devices.
Power system protection engineers widely use Maple Flow to calculate the necessary sensitivity parameters for their programmable protection relay devices for overcurrent, phase, and ground distance protection. This example shows the export of the sequence impedance parameters from Maple Flow into AcSELerator QuickSet, consistent with protection device updates in a power system or transmission line. This can be developed into a smooth, controlled process for updating asset settings with built-in traceability, saving engineering time and reducing the risk of errors from manually copying data between tools.
